Porter Wagoner, also known as Mr. Grand Ole Opry, was a country music legend that began his career in 1951. He released his most recent album, Wagonmaster a few months before lung cancer took his life.

Career
Porter Wagoner's first band The Blue Ridge Boys, preformed for a radio show in West Plains, Missouri. In 1951 Wagoner was hired to do a radio show in Springfield, Missouri which lead to a contract with RCA Records. Wagoner moved to Tennessee and joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1957.Wagoner hosted his own TV show from 1960 to 1981 called The Porter Wagoner Show which developed a following of over three million people.
Wagoner continued to sing and entertain all the way up until his death in 2007 and is considered to be a country music legend.
