Old World Porcupines
Old World porcupines are found in Africa and Asia. They live mainly on the ground, while New World porcupines may nest in trees. One difference between Old World and New World porcupines is the length of their quills. New World Porcupines
The Erethizontidae family of rodents are known as the New World porcupines. There are twelve species found in North America, Mexico and parts of South America, including the bristle-spined rat, prehensile-tailed, North American, stump-tailed and hairy porcupines.
