  • The Pontiac G8 is a full-size sedan derived from Holden VE Commodore and assembled by the GM subsidiary Holden in Australia. Replacing the Grand Prix, the G8 is Pontiac's largest sedan. In contrast to its predecessor, it rides on a rear-wheel-drive platform, featuring a MacPherson strut setup in front and a four-link suspension in the rear. Power comes from a choice of V6 and V8 engines, coupled to automatic transmissions only.

    • "The all-new Pontiac G8 ... succeeds in every respect. With the 361-hp V8 engine in the GT model, it's the most powerful car you can buy for under $30,000 ... The ride is comfortable at all times, and firm when you need it to be. The handling is precise and up to the task of hard cornering. Its styling is muscular and smooth, and it's roomy inside."JB car pagesJB car pages: 2008 Pontiac G8 Review
    • "The Australian-built 2008 Pontiac G8 GT is the best Pontiac since John Z. invented the GTO. No, not that GTO. The first GTO in 1964. You know, the one Ronny and the Daytonas immortalized in song. The one that started the whole muscle car thing."—EdmundsEdmunds: 2008 Pontiac G8 Full Test
