On April 18, 2008, during the polygamist sect custody trial, a child welfare investigator testified that at least five girls under the age of 18 are pregnant, or have children. Investigator Angie Voss also said that some of the 'women' who claimed they were adults with children, may in fact be juveniles themselves.
In addition, Voss stated that at least 20 girls, some are now adults, had given birth under the age of 16 or 17.
