Poltergeist is a 1982 Horror movie about a family that moves into their brand new suburban home, only to find out that it was built on an Indian burial ground and that the spirits of the dead are trying to torment their family, most notably their daughter who is able to communicate with them through the television. Produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Tobe Hooper, the film was a major success and was even nominated for three Academy Awards, eventually spawning two sequels.
