-
Jublife City
- Once you enter, Looker will show up and rant a bit, then run off. You can now enter the Poketech Building and the GTS, but ignore the GTS for now unless you want to get a Cranidos by playing Pearl.
- Enter the Poketech Building and get the newest Poketch App by talking to the company president on the first floor of the building to the northwest.
- When you're ready, head north to find Rowan and Dawn being accosted by some Team Galactic grunts - you're about to have your first 2 on 2 battle.
-
BOSS FIGHT: Team Galactic Grunts
- The two grunts use a level 11 Glameow and a level 11 Stunky. You and Dawn will fight together - she'll choose her own moves, and she'll have a level 13 starter Pokemon that is weak against your starter(for example, if you chose Chimchar as your starter Pokemon, she'll have a Turtwig).
- Glameow likes to use Fake on the first turn, and then Scratch. Stunky prefers to use a stat-reducing move throughout the match. If you did choose Chimchar and evolved it to Monferno, you'll do rather well here; otherwise, use your highest level Pokemon and keep doing damaging attacks.
- After the battle, a man will show up and give you the Fashion Case. When you're through, head to Route 204.

- Keep heading north to reach Floaroma Town.
- Be sure to come back once you obtain the National Pokedex to capture the Pokemon listed above under the "National Dex" section.
Floaroma Town
- First things first - head to the Flower Shop and obtain the Sprayduck from the woman inside. You can use this to water berries that you plant in the soft soil scattered throughout the game.
- Heal at the PC, and restock your items at the Pokemart if you need to. There's several new status healing items that you'll find in the store.
Floaroma Pokemart
- Poke Ball: 200
- Potion: 300
- Super Potion: 700
- Antidote: 100
- Paralyze Heal: 200
- Awakening: 250
- Burn Heal: 250
- Ice Heal: 250
- Escape Rope: 550
- Repel: 350
- Heal Ball: 300
- Net Ball: 1000
- Bloom Mail: 50
- NOTE: The Heal items(Burn Heal, Ice Heal, etc.) heal those particular status conditions. The Escape Rope takes you back to the entrance of any underground area, and the Repel is useful for those who don't want to encounter weak Pokemon while walking through tall grass.
- After you finish up here, head east to take Route 205.
- You won't get very far on Route 205 - Team Galactic have the area cordoned off, so head back down the bridge and to the right to enter the Valley Windworks.
Valley Windworks
- Pokemon Encountered:
- Shinx
- Pachirisu
- Buizel
- Shellos
- Fishing/Surfing Pokemon Encountered:
- Finneon - Good Rod
- Magikarp - Good Rod
- Gyarados - Super Rod
- Lumineon - Super Rod
- Tentacool - Surf
- Tentacruel - Surf
- Shellos - Surf
- Gastrodon - Surf
- National Dex Pokemon Encountered:
- Mareep - Radar
- Electrike - Swarm
- Shellder - Super Rod
- You'll definitely want to grab a Shellos while you're here - it evolves into a Water/Ground type with resistance to Electric attacks, so it makes a good substitute for the Piplup starter if you chose Turtwig or Chimchar as your starter.
- Remember to come back here after you obtain Surf to grab Tentacool - it's evolution, Tentacruel, only has a 1% chance of showing, so it may be better to get two Tentacools and evolve one of them.
- Once you're set, talk to the Grunt protecting the entrance to the Valley Windworks to start a battle.
BOSS FIGHT: Team Galactic Grunt
- This grunt uses a level 13 Glameow, which isn't that difficult to defeat - most of your party should be level 20 or higher. Use damaging attacks and ignore status changing moves, and Glameow will fall quickly.
- After you defeat the grunt, he'll lock himself inside the Valley Windworks. You need to head back to Floaroma Town to find the extra key - after you heal at the PC, head west and north to find an entrance to Floaroma Meadow.
Floaroma Meadow
- There are two Galactic grunts accosting the man here - head up the steps and engage them in battle.
BOSS FIGHT: Team Galactic Grunts
- You'll fight both of these grunts, but one at the time - after you defeat the first one, the second one will engage you in battle immediately, so have some Potions handy in case you need them.
- The first grunt will use a level 13 Stunky, which uses mostly status changing moves. You might get poisoned, so carry a few Antidotes with you. Use any Fighting and Ground type attacks you have, like Magnitude or Mach Punch. Once you defeat him, his partner will attack.
- The second grunt will use two level 11 Zubats, and attacks with Leech Life and Astonish. Avoid using a Grass type Pokemon - if your Shinx is high enough to have Spark, use it to end the fight quickly.
- If you don't have a Shinx with Electric attacks, most Normal attacks will still cause a decent amount of damage. Keep pounding away, healing as necessary, and you're bound to win.
- After you defeat both grunts, you'll obtain Honey and the Works Key. Head back to Valley Windworks and use the key to enter the building.
Valley Windworks Interior
- There are two grunts you'll need to fight before you reach the Commander - be sure to backtrack to a PC and heal before taking on the Commander. When you're ready, start a battle with Commander Mars.
BOSS FIGHT: Commander Mars
- Mars uses a level 15 Zubat and a level 17 Purugly, so to make things easier on yourself it is suggested your party be at level 25 or higher.
- Mars' Zubat knows Toxic, which increases in power as long as you are poisoned. If you get poisoned, heal as soon as you defeat the Zubat. Purugly tends to use Fake Out on the first turn, and mixes up the rest of the match with Faint Attack and Scratch - blast away with Fighting type attacks to end the battle quickly.
- Be sure to have some Antidotes on hand - Toxic increases in power the longer you stay poisoned, which may result in a one hit KO for some of your party if you're not careful.
- After you defeat Mars, Team Galactic will exit the building. Looker will appear and chat with you a bit, then run off again.
- NOTE: Drifloon will begin showing up outside of the Valley Windworks on Fridays - they don't appear in the tall grass, and only appear once a week.
- When you're ready, head up to the now-cleared Route 205.

- Lumineon - Super Rod
- Tentacool - Surf
- Tentacruel - Surf
- Shellos - Surf
- Gastrodon - Surf
- National Dex Pokemon Encountered:
- Hoppip - Radar
- Shellder - Super Rod
- This is the first Route with Honey Trees - slather them with Honey and come back around 8 hours later to find Pokemon there. Sometimes the Pokemon are rare, so remember to check them often, because after a day or so, the Pokemon leaves the tree.
- You'll come across a few trainers on this Route, so be sure to keep your inventory full of Potions, Antidotes, and the like. Keep heading north to Eterna Forest - if you need a rest, a nice lady in the house by the entrance to the forest will work as a stand-in PC for you.
Eterna Forest
- Pokemon Encountered:
- Bidoof
- Kriketot
- Budew
- Wurmple
- Silcoon
- Beautifly
- Cascoon
- Dustox

- Lotad - Sapphire
- Caterpie - FireRed
- Metapod - FireRed
- Weedle - LeafGreen
- Kakuna - LeafGreen
- Pineco - Emerald
- Slakoth - Swarm
- Nincada - Radar
- As soon as you enter the forest, a fellow trainer named Cheryl will partner with you. There's several points about being partnered up that you need to know - first, wild Pokemon encountered will come in pairs, and you can't catch a Pokemon with a Poke Ball until one of them faints.
- If you exit Eterna Forest from the way you came in, Cheryl will wait for you at the entrance for the next time you pass through. You can't use Surf or Rock Climb with her following you, and she'll keep your Pokemon fully healed - after each battle, any unconscious Pokemon will be revived, and all HP is filled.
- Cheryl uses a Chansey, which uses a lot of healing moves and Egg Bomb. It also has Refresh, which heals status effects, so don't bother trying to protect Chansey.
- You'll run into some trainers as you make your way through Eterna Forest - each trainer battle will be a 2 vs. 2, even if you only speak to one of them. Make your way east, then north, then east again to exit Eterna Forest - Cheryl will give you a Soothe Bell and leave your party.
- NOTE: Eterna Forest is a great place to grind for levels - your party should all be level 30 or higher before leaving. In fact, if you keep exiting from the entrance back to Route 205 South, you can grab more Pokemon from Someone's PC and level them as well - it takes a long time, but it's worth it to have several parties worth of Pokemon at a high level.
- A great Pokemon to catch while in Eterna Forest is Gastly, which evolves into Haunter. Trade Haunter to evolve it to a Gengar, a great Ghost type Pokemon. When you're through, exit to Route 205 North.

Herbal Shop
- Heal Powder: 450
- Energy Powder: 500
- Energy Root: 800
- Revival Herb: 2800
- Head up north and your rival will appear to show you the Pokemon Statue in the north of town - while there, you'll run across the blue-haired man from the beginning of the game again. Try to head west, and a lady named Cynthia will appear and give you HM01(Cut).
- Take note that the Herbal Shop is cheaper than buying the items from the Pokemart that do the same thing, but they lower your Pokemon's friendship with you. Head to the condo near the Pokemart to find a person who'll trade you a Chatot for a Buizel - this is a decent trade, and you can get Buizel from the Valley Windworks tall grass easily.
- When you're through, head to the Gym and talk to Gardenia, then enter the Gym.
Eterna Gym
- There's a floweresque dial that turns when you fight a trainer in the Gym. As you defeat trainers, the dial will turn and allow you to reach the next trainer. Defeat the three trainers, and the dial will turn so that you can reach Gardenia.
BOSS FIGHT: Gardenia
- Gardenia uses Grass type Pokemon - a level 20 Cherrim, a level 20 Turtwig, and a level 22 Roserade, which is a duel Grass/Poison type Pokemon.
- Gardenia uses Turtwig first, which falls easily to Fire and Flying attacks. She'll use Cherrim next, which uses Magical Leaf a lot. From time to time it uses Leech Seed - continue using Fire and Flying type attacks.
- If you've been leveling Psyduck, you ought to have Confusion, a Psychic type attack that works wonders against Roserade(Poison is weak against Psychic). If you traded a Machop for an Abra and leveled it, you ought to have a Kadabra with some good Psychic attacks you can use. Alternatively, you can use Ponyta or Monferno if you picked Chimchar as your starter.
- After you defeat Gardenia you'll receive the Forest Badge and TM86(Grass Knot). If you haven't already, head north in Eterna City and you'll run into your rival, then Cynthia will give you HM01(Cut). Teach Cut to you one of your Pokemon and use it to cut down the trees near the spiked building at the north to reach the Galactic Building.
Galactic Building
- Once you enter the building, Looker will show up as an undercover Team Galactic member. There are three floors to this building, with staircases on each floor. These staircases lead to the following areas:
- First Floor: Middle staircase leads to a room with a Galactic grunt and a stat-increasing item; right-hand staircase leads to second floor.
- Second Floor: First staircase leads to third floor; second staircase leads to a room with Galactic grunt and a stat-increasing item.
- Third Floor: First staircase leads to the fourth floor; second staircase leads to a room with a Blue Shard and a Revive.
- When you finally reach the fourth floor, you'll see Commander Jupiter with the bike salesman - head to the side quickly to grab the Upgrade for Porygon. When you are set, talk to Jupiter to begin a battle.
BOSS FIGHT: Commander Jupiter
- Jupiter uses a level 21 Zubat, and a level 23 Skuntank. It's best to have all of your party at level 30 or higher - 35 is a good number to keep the battles easy.
- Zubat attacks with Wing Attack and Bite, so don't use Gastly or Monferno if you can help it. A good Pokemon to use against Zubat is Luxio(evolved Shinx) with Electric type attacks.
- Skuntank tends to use Smokescreen to drop your Pokemon's accuracy, then uses Extremespeed to deal massive damage - this is why you want to be such a high level for the battle.
- Once you defeat Jupiter, leave the building and head for the PC to rest your Pokemon. Be sure to save your game, then head south - Cynthia appears and gives you a Togepi Egg as long as you have room for it, so be sure to place one of your party Pokemon in Someone's PC so you can get it.
- Head to the Bike Shop and talk to the owner to get a Bike for free - assign it to Y to make getting around faster.
- Head south to Route 206 - you need Rock Smash, the Bike, and the Explorer Kit before heading that way. Before you exit to Route 206, though, stop by Route 211 on Eterna City's side to grab some more Pokemon.
Route 211 Eterna Side
- Pokemon Encountered:
- Zubat
- Chigling
- Meditite
- Machop
- Bronzor
- Bidoof
- Noctowl
- Fishing/Surfing Pokemon Encountered:
- None
- National Dex Pokemon Encountered:
- Tyrogue
- Route 211 here is split into two paths, with one heading close to the eastern side of Eterna City and one close to Celestic Town. There's two trainers you can face off against, and a third if you have Rock Smash.
- At the end of the path is the blocked entrance to Mt. Coronet - you need Strength to move the boulder blocking the way. When you're finished, head to Route 206.
