Before singer Bret Michaels and guitarist C.C. DeVille of the band Poison appeared on VH1 reality shows, they wrote hits like "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," which defined the late '80s melodic hard rock period and contributed to the band's sales of over 25 million albums worldwide.
David Bowie did it. Then KISS and Motley Crue, but by the time Poison jumped on the rock and roll hair-and-makeup train in the mid-1980s the MTV "hair metal" era had officially begun. Poison defined it.

Brett Michaels Brain Hemorrhage
Brett Michaels was admitted to the intensive care unit on Friday, April 23, 2010 with a massive brain hemorrhage. Tests were run and his condition is constantly being monitored at this point. This incident comes just a couple of weeks after the rocker was rushed into surgery for an emergency appendectomy
Bret Michaels' rep told Us Magazine on Saturday that, "Bret remains in critical condition at an undisclosed location.
