On May 5, 2009, another mysterious monster appeared on the shore of Montauk, New York. Reporters have speculated a link between Plum Island Animal Disease Center and the Montauk Monster, in that perhaps a genetic mutation caused the birth of the animal. On July 29, 2008, a photo of a dead creature was posted on the blog Gawker. The animal in the photo allegedly taken on the beach in Montauk, New York, was unidentifiable.
