Sports and Activities
The Plott brothers first brought their dogs from Germany to North Carolina. When they arrived in America they proceeded to develop and breed a type of dog that would be excellent at tracking scents and hunting wild boar. The hound's sense of smell is so strong, that some dogs can track a wounded animal on a trail with a scent that is a week old.AKC: Plott Did you know?
