  The Plott hound is considered a healthy breed with traditional health issues that are common in most dogs.   The Plott brothers first brought their dogs from Germany to North Carolina. When they arrived in America they proceeded to develop and breed a type of dog that would be excellent at tracking scents and hunting wild boar.
