Playmate of the month

Playmate of the Month is a woman featured each month in Playboy Magazine. The Practice was begun in December of 1953 with Playboy’s first issue but the first Playmate was actually called sweetheart of the month and was Marilyn Monroe. The First woman to actually be called Playmate of the Month was Margie Harrison in January of 1954. http://www.playboy.com/playmates/playmate-faq/milestones.html Over the Years there have been many changes and firsts in the evolution of the Playboy Playmates. In 1956 the magazine began featuring a centerfold with Playmate Marian Stafford as the first to have expanded coverage. Then in 1971 the future playmate Liv Lindeland had a small tuft of pubic hair exposed in a pictorial spread. Playboy Enterprises issue of stock for its Initial Public Offering was unusual in that it bore the image of the February, 1971 playmate, Willy Rey in the nude. In the October 1975 issue Jill Devries became the first Playmate to sign her centerfold. Sondra Theodore was the first one to have a data sheet when the July, 1977 issue was released. The playboy Playmates lost something else when Venice Kong appeared in the last issue to use staples to hold in the centerfold, issues after that used glue. Playmates were also appearing in other places too.
