Plastic Logic develops flexible plastic electronics, the first of which is a new type of flexible electronic paper. The yet-unnamed display, which will compete with e-reader devices like Sony's Reader and Amazon's Kindle, is set to debut in early 2009. Headquartered in Mountain View, California, with factories in Dresden, Germany and Cambridge, UK, Plastic Logic was started in 2000. It is a privately funded company that presented at DEMOfall08 on September 8, 2008.
Plastic Logic's Flexible Digital Display

Plastic Logic's flexible digital display, presented at the 2008 DEMO conference, is unique in that it mimics the look of actual paper. It will have a screen roughly the size of a piece of copy paper and contain a wireless device, allowing the user to download content from the Internet. The device will hold hundreds of pages of digital content, including PDFs and Microsoft Office documents.
