  • Investigations were underway after a Minneapolis-bound Northwest Airlines plane overshot its destination by 150 miles before pilots turned around. According to reports, the pilots of Northwest Airlines Flight 188 were out of contact with air traffic controllers for more than an hour before realizing their mistake. Officials were said to be so concerned that the FAA considered scrambling military fighter jets to determine what was going on.
