Gameplay
The player controls a small creature that swings and jumps between plants and rocks, collecting pollen to open up more plants to swing on. The goal is to collect a certain number of spectra in each level, large items scattered throughout the "gardens", or levels. Players fail when their "synchronization meters" run out after a certain amount of time if not replenished by crystal items or spectra.
Playstation Integration
Pixeljunk Eden is known for being one of the first games to support the Playstation 3's trophy system of achievements. The game was also the first to support the PS3 custom soundtrack feature, unlocked after the player collects all fifty spectra in the game.
