Following the success of the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films, rumors have surfaced about the creation of a fourth film to be released in 2011.

Keira Knightley stated in an interview that she will not appear in a fourth film. The character of Orlando Bloom is rumored to have been written out also, but New Media Strategies, who works with The Walt Disney Company on the franchise, issued a statement calling rumors of Bloom's departure "completely unfounded."

It is rumored that Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbossa have to cast aside their differences and fight together against a supernatural enemy.
From the end of Pirates of the Caribbean 3, the plot will focus on the fabled Fountain of Youth.
