Pirate Hunters: USN is a reality series covering the actions of the U.S. Navy in their real-life quest to rid the oceans from pirate activity. The Navy has promised a viewers a "front-row seat" to the action currently taking place in the Gulf of Aden, located off the coast of Africa. The announcement of Pirate Hunters: USN came just one day after Captain Richard Phillips escaped from his pirate captors. Captain Richard Phillips was taken hostage when Somali pirates took control of the U.S. cargo ship Maersk Alabama, on April 8, 2009.
