  • Career

Pink Floyd started out in the London club scene in the late 1960s and received a moderate amount of success for their live improvisations and psychedelic music. After lead singer Syd Barrett suffered a mental breakdown, Bass player Roger Waters began to take a more active role in the band, as well as new guitarist David Gilmour. After the release of 1973s immensely popular Dark Side of the Moon album, Pink Floyd became one of the biggest bands in the world.
