Pineapple Express is a 2008 comedy film by David Gordon Green that stars Seth Rogen and James Franco. In the film, Seth Rogen plays "Dale Denton", a dead-beat stoner who buys his favorite brand of marijuana, "Pineapple Express", from a dealer named "Saul Silver". Dale witnesses a murder, and accidentally leaves his Pineapple Express at the scene of the crime. Dale and Saul must then go on the run in order to escape being hunted and killed by a crooked cop (played by Rosie Perez) and a powerful drug lord (played by Gary Cole).
Pineapple Express is written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and produced by Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Shauna Robertson. It is set for release by Columbia Pictures on August 8, 2008.
