A six seater Piper PA46 plane, crashed on Sunday, January 11, 2009. The pilot, later identified as Marc Schrenker, radioed in a distress call and said his windshield had imploded and he was severely bleeding. Military jets responded and saw the plane crash into a swampy area near Lakeside Drive in East Milton, Florida. Schrenker was reported to be alive in Alabama. He told a police officer that he was in a canoeing accident. He then checked into a hotel under a fictitious name and fled into the woods wearing a black cap. When authorities in Alabama learned of the plane crash in Florida, they confirmed the identity of the pilot as Schrenker.
