Phuket is a beautiful place to visit year round. In the past the general weather patterns were broken into two seasons: Rainy and High. Neither of these can really truly be applied to the weather in Phuket.

October through April - Phuket gets less wind and rain. Although being in the tropics there will always be some tropical rain showers that pop up, then it clears back up again into a sunny day. This is the busiest time of year in Phuket.

May through September - More wind and frequent showers. Increase in the wave heights and strength. A few times over this time period there will be rain showers that last for a few hours or more. However, the majority of the season is very pleasant, with light winds to help keep you cool.

The term 'monsoon season' doesn't reflect the true nature in the summer. There is a big push among local residents and businesses to call summer the 'Green Season', as the island's plants and flowers spring back to life making the island green and beautiful.
