Philippe Starck is a French designer who specializes in architecture, furniture design, interior design and commercial product design.
Career
Starck's first major project came in 1982 when he was commissioned to design the interiors of French President Francois Mitterand's private apartment.
He has since designed homes, hotels, restaurants as well as furniture and a wide range of clothing accessories and home appliances.
In 2008, it was announced that Starck would be hosting the BBC's School of Design, a reality show and design competition.BBC: Philippe Starck Biography
