Sexuality
Farmer's books were noted for the religious and sexual themes that were present in his stories. It was his novella entitled The Lovers that presented a sexual theme to science fiction readers for the first time in the pages of Startling Stories. The story revolved around the attraction of a human male for an alien female. His sexual themes were not pornographic, Jonathan Strahan, of Locus magazine explained that Farmer presented the "sexuality of people in an interesting and intelligent way".Thoan: Philip José Farmer CNN: Philip José Farmer, Science Fiction Writer, Dies at 91 (February 25, 2008)Selected Awards
