  • Early Life and Career

    A native of Toledo, Ohio, Hall served in the military and taught English at a local high school before choosing to become an actor in his 30s. He enjoyed moderate success on the New York stage before moving to Los Angeles in 1975 and having guest roles on television, including on [[M*A*S*H]], Cagney & Lacey and T.J. Hooker.
  • Military Man

    Hall is frequently cast as a government or military official. In the mid-1990s, he played the "Chief Justice" in The Rock and Attorney General Andrew Ward in Air Force One. He portrayed a government cabinet member again in 2002's The Sum of All Fears as Defense Secretary David Becker.
