  • Phil Rizzuto was a Hall of Fame shortstop for the New York Yankees. He was also a famous radio and television sports announcer. He was famous for his catch phrase "Holy Cow!" during Yankee Broadcasts. The phrase was also used by Chicago Cubs announcer Harry Carey.
  • Playing Career

    Rizzuto, nicknamed "The Scooter," was an MVP shortstop for the New York Yankees. He won the MVP award in 1950 after leading the Yankees to a pennant with a .324 batting average. Rizzuto finished his career with a .273 batting average, 1599 hits and 877 runs scored. He was also a four-time All-Star.
