  • Early Years

    Mickelson graduated from University of San Diego High School, then attended Arizona State University. As an outstanding collegiate golfer at Arizona State, he won three individual NCAA Championships (1990-1992), three-consecutive Haskin Awards (1990-1992) and became only the second collegiate golfer to earn first-team All-American honors in his four-year collegiate career.

  • Pro Career

    He started entering professional golf at age of 22 after spending his four years as a student and amateur golfer at Arizona State University. Entering the 2009 season, he already has 34 tournament wins and has been called the best golfer in the world without a major victory for years by the press.

  • Ryder Cup

    Phil Mickelson has played in the Ryder Cup seven times. In 1995 he won all three matches but the European team defeated the United States 14 1/2 to 13 1/2. Mickelson won two fo four possible points at the 1997 Ryder Cup as the United States lost again 14 1/2 to 13 1/2. In 1999 the United States won 14 1/2 to 13 1/2 and Mickelson scored two of a possible four points in his matches.
