Peter Tosh

Peter Tosh was an outspoken Reggae musician and pioneer of the Rastafarian movement.

Along with Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer he was one of the founding members of The Wailers - one of the most influential reggae groups.

Career

Peter Tosh formed The Wailers in 1962 with Bunny Wailer and Bob Marley. Tosh released eight albums with The Wailers before going solo in 1987. His solo debut and most well known record, Legalize It, was released in 1976.

Death

On September 11, 1987, three gunmen entered Tosh's home killing him, radio DJ Jess "Free I" Dixo and another friend. Three others were seriously wounded in the shooting. Dennis Lobban, a friend of Tosh, was arrested and convicted of the killings.
