  • Career Highlights

    Schaefer began his career playing for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League in 1993. He was then drafted 66th overall in the 1995 NHL Draft by the Vancouver Canucks. He spent the next couple of seasons with the Syracuse Crunch, a Canucks American Hockey League affiliate, before making his NHL debut in 1998. Schaefer left the NHL in the Year 2001, to play one season in Finland in the SM-liiga. Schaefer returned to the NHL in 2002, where he was traded to the the Ottawa Senators. He played four seasons in Ottawa, then was traded to the Boston Bruins on July 17, 2007.
