  • Career

    Gammons began his career in journalism at the Boston Globe after writing for the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill student newspaper. Gammons was the main journalist covering the Boston Red Sox for nearly two decades beginning in 1969. Since 1988, Gammons has worked for ESPN as a baseball analyst on Baseball Tonight. He writes several columns for ESPN magazine and ESPN.com. Gammons was voted National Sportswriter of the Year in 1990, 1991 and 1992.
