Peter Forsberg is an all-star forward who plays for Modo in the Swedish Elite League. He previously played for the Colorado Avalanche in the National Hockey League.

Early Years
Forsberg began his career playing for MODO Hockey in the Elitserien, or Swedish Elite League. In 1991, he was drafted sixth overall in the NHL draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. Forsberg continued to play in Sweden, during which time he was traded to the Quebec Nordiques in 1992. In 1994, Forsberg played with the Swedish National Team, helping them bring home a gold medal in the Winter Olympics. The following year he made his NHL debut with the Nordiques, scoring 15 goals and 35 assists in the shortened 1994-95 regular season. His strong first season earned him the Calder Trophy for the NHL's Rookie of the Year.
Recent Years
Forsberg moved with the Nordiques as they became the Colorado Avalanche in 1995. He helped the Avalanche win two Stanley Cup Championships over the next few years, in 1996 and 2001. Forsberg continued with the Avalanche, earning the Hart Memorial Trophy, as the league's MVP, and the Art Ross Trophy, as the top scorer, both in 2003. Forsberg then signed with the Philadelphia Flyers in 2005. He returned to the Olympics in 2006, taking home another gold medal with Team Sweden. The following year he was traded to the Nashville Predators. He played just 17 games in Nashville and was expected to retire. Forsberg however re-signed with the Avalanche on February 25, 2008.
