  • Pete Doherty was a founding member of the English rock group The Libertines, which released two albums before breaking up in 2004. After the break-up, Doherty became the front man for Babyshambles, which has released two albums as well, the 2005 debut, Down In Albion, and the critically acclaimed 2007 follow-up, Shotter's Nation.

    According to reports on June 11, 2009, Doherty was arrested in Gloucester for suspected DUI and drug possession after police spotted a car "being driven erratically."   • Scandal

    In September, 2005, a scandal involving Doherty and his then-girlfriend Kate Moss caused a media storm. Footage of the pair snorting cocaine led to Moss losing lucrative modeling contracts. Doherty's reputation for illicit behavior was already well-known, however, and his career may have actually been bolstered by the heightened media attention.

  • Geneva Airport Arrest

    In June of 2009, Doherty was arrested in a Geneva airport after disembarking from a British Airways flight. Doherty was reportedly found passed out in the plane's bathroom and a hypodermic needle was found in the garbage can.
