Pet Snakes are a diverse group of reptiles that have long bodies with no appendages. Snakes are exotic and relatively easy to maintain pets. The larger species of snake require extensive amounts of room and resources.
Two perfect "starter" snakes are North American corn snakes and the ball pythons. The corn snake is long and frisky, very easy to tame, and can live up to 20 years. The ball python is a sturdy snake, not too long, and thick bodied. Its personality is quite a bit more "laid back" than the corn snake.
Both of these snakes need to be handled from early on in life. If you can start with a very young snake and handle it on a regular basis, you will have a wonderful pet to enjoy for a long time. http://www.reptilefamily.com

For advanced snake owners:

- Burmese Python - also a constrictor, pythons are wonderful when handled from a young age, and are gently with very small children http://thorsreptilefamily.com/Thors_Reptile_Family/Welcome.html http://www.reptilefamily.com/world/world-as.html
- California King Snake - caution if you have a king snake and other snakes. King snakes eat other snakes, such as rattle snakes, so be sure you have not handled any other kind of snake before you handle a king snake
- Green Tree Python
- Reticulated Python
Baby Corn Snakes
Corn snakes can co-habitat quite happily when raised together. These are baby corn snakes in a large 30-gallon aquarium, with many textures and enrichments to keep them mentally stimulated.
