  • British electro-pop duo Pet Shop Boys, vocalist Neil Tennant and keyboardist/vocalist Chris Lowe, emerged towards the end of the New Wave movement of the 1980s. The duo have sold over 100 million records worldwide to date.

    Recently, the group received the Outstanding Contribution to Music award at the 2009 BRIT Awards. Their tenth studio album, Yes, was released on March 23, 2009 on Parlophone Records in the UK. The album's first single, "Love Etc." was released March 16. A video for the song was released in late February.NME: Coldplay and Duffy lead BRIT Awards nominations (January 20, 2009)

  • West Enders

    Tennant and Lowe initially named themselves "West End" after the West End area of London they loved. They'd soon be inspired by friends who worked in a pet shop to change the name, but their biggest hit "West End Girls" went on to provide a fitting tribute.
