  • Pet Sematary is a 1989 horror film about a family that moves into a quiet New England town and discovers a semetery with the unusual power to bring animals back from the dead. Based on the 1983 novel by Stephen King (who also wrote the screenplay), the movie follows the Creed family as they discover the semetery's supernatural powers when their family cat is killed and then resurrected. After their son Gage is killed a few months later, the family tries to resurrect him using the semetery, to tragic results. The movie received mixed reviews when it was released and had modest success at the box office.
