When choosing a pet bed several factors should be considered. If using the bed for a crate, make sure that the bed is the proper dimensions for the area. Durability should also be considered, since in a nesting situation dogs and cats will inevitably claw at the bed. The material of the bed should be considered while purchasing, since hair will unavoidably settle on the fabric. A pet bed with a removable, washable cover is usually a priority.If one is using the bed outside of a crate, style and appearance may be a consideration since it will essentially become a piece of furniture for the pet. It's also important to consider the temperament of the pet. Some pets will not respond to being provided a designated area of rest.
