The film Personal Effects stars Ashton Kutcher as Andrew Wakefield. Wakefield struggles to cope with his sister's untimely death. When he arrives in a small town to work as a wedding planner, he begins a relationship with an older townswoman played by Michelle Pfeiffer. The woman has experienced her own loss. The two come together to grieve, cope and deal with their pain. The movie is based on a short story by Rick Moody entitled On the Hill.
