  • Sound

Person Pitch represents something of a departure for Panda Bear's solo career. Unlike his second album, the dark Young Prayer, made in the aftermath of the death of the musician's father, Person Pitch is a lively, upbeat collection of songs, inspired in some ways by the pop sensibilities of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys. The album was likewise recorded using less equipment than previous Panda Bear recordings, relying largely on samplers to capture a more immediate, performance-oriented sound.
