Persimmons

The persimmon is a yellow-orange to dark red-orange fruit, depending on the species, and is divided into two groups: astringent and non-astringent. Both groups are full of tannins and can be tart when unripe.

Edible persimmons are native to the United States, China, southeast Europe and the Philippines, and also found in California, Florida and Mexico.

Medicinal Uses

The raw fruit is good for treating constipation and hemorrhoids. The cooked fruit. The cooked fruit is used to treat diarrhea.
