The Pennsylvania Dutch—traditionalist communities of German-descent that include Amish and Mennonites—have their own distinct culinary traditions. Folk recipes passed through generations use fresh, home-grown ingredients. Though the cuisine varies between communities, it shares German roots (seen in dishes such as meat pot pies) and an emphasis on dough-based foods, including noodles, dumplings, breads and pastries.Jann's PA Dutch Kitchen: "Kissin' wears out, cookin' don't!"
Whoopie Pie
