Penguin Clothing

Penguin clothing is an clothing and apparel company founded in 1955 by Munsignwear, a underwear and military garment store based in Minneapolis. Munsingwear introduced the original Penguin golf shirt and soon became the most well known suburban leisure shirt throughout the 1980s.

In 2005 original Penguin launched a denim collection as well as a full line of eyewear.

Penguins campaign started by sending golf shirts to golf players so they could wear them during their tournaments. The first televised ad featured Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.

Penquin was bought by Perry Ellis in 1996. Original Penquin can still be found in upscale boutiques such as Barneys New York, Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters and David Jones.
