Plot Summary
As a young young heiress, Penelope (Christina Ricci) should have the world by the tail, but a family curse has left her with the face of a pig. The curse can only be broken when "one of her own kind" loves her for who she is. Penelope's parents try desperately to find a wealthy suitor in the same social caste, but no one seems to be able to love the pig-faced rich girl. Penelope remains secluded in her parents mansion until a shattered engagement to Max (James McAvoy), encourages her to leave her parents sheltered home. Penelope ventures into a world that she has never known. On a quest of self discovery, Penelope must learn to love herself before she can loved by anyone else.
