Acting Career
Cruz's first big roles were in the films Jamón, jamón and Belle Époque, which won her an Academy Award. From there she went on to play in the films All the Pretty Horses, Vanilla Sky, Bandidas, and Volver. Her more recent works include the films The Good Night, Manolete, Elegy, and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.Family and Dating Life
Cruz has a sister named Monica Cruz who is a dancer and a brother named Eduardo who is a singer. Cruz studied ballet for nine years at Spain's National Conservatory. She is fluent in the languages Spanish, French, English, and Italian. Cruz was romantically linked to actor Tom Cruise. Their relationship ended in January of 2004. She began dating actor Matthew McConaughey in 2005 but the couple split the next year.
