  • Some Types of Pelicans

    There are a variety of pelicans within the species. The Brown Pelican has extremely good eyesight and can see fish from 70 feet away. They are considered divers. The American White Pelican likes to fish in a group, swimming side by side with others. They wait for the fish to come closer to shore and then scoop them up. The Pink-Backed Pelican has a spotted bill and likes to hide. When it sees prey it quietly sneaks up an lunges, while the Dalmation Pelican acts as a leader who likes others to find the fish.
