Pee-wee's Big Adventure is a 1985 movie directed by Tim Burton that marked the film debut of Pee-wee Herman, a character made popular by actor Paul Reubens in the Saturday morning children's television program The Pee-wee Herman Show. As Burton's feature length film debut, the film revolves around the adventures that ensue when Pee-wee loses his prized bicycle and then sets out on a cross-country trip in order to find it. With music by famed composer Danny Elfman, the movie went on to be a critical and commercial success.
