Chrysler's Peapod Car is an all electric car that was made available for consumer's orders on April 22, 2009, Earth Day. The cars will be delivered in October 2009.
The Peapod car goes about 25 miles per hour and charges through a 100 volt outlet. It is considered a "neighborhood electric vehicle," to be used for running errands and local trips. The Peapod can can be started via an iPod or iPhone application. The device be placed in the car's dashboard to start the car's ignition.
