Peanut butter fudge is a soft, rich candy made from sugar, peanut butter and milk. Recipes are based on a crunchy or smooth peanut butter, marshmallow cream, marshmallows or corn syrup. There are recipes that don't require cooking, but most are made over the stove.
How to Make Peanut Butter Fudge
- Combine 4 cups of sugar, a 12 ounce can of evaporated milk, 1 cup butter and a pinch of salt in a sauce pan over medium heat. Heat until the candy reaches the soft ball stage or 234 degrees Fahrenheit on a candy thermometer.
- Quickly stir in a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 cup of creamy peanut butter and a 7 ounce jar of marshmallow cream.
- Spread into a greased 9 by 13 inch baking pan and allow to cool to room temperature before cutting.
