  • PC simulation games have been around for more than 20 years. The most popular PC simulation game franchise is The Sims. Simulation games allow the player to be "God". They control the lives of their characters, build their homes, and construct the cities they live in. The Sims is published by Electronic Arts and was developed by Maxis. On February 4, 2000, the original The Sims was officially released and by March 22, 2002 it was named the best-selling PC game in history after selling more than 6.3 million copies throughout the world http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sims. It has since released seven expansion packs for the original The Sims, and Maxis has developed and released two sequels with their own expansion packs. The latest sequel, The Sims 3, was just released on June 2, 2009. The Sims also has game versions for mobile phones and various consoles such as PlayStation and Xbox.

    PC simulation games allow players to simulate real life. They allow players to control the world of virtual people, fly helicopters, play doctor, run businesses, learn to cook, bartend, play sports, and just about any other real-life activity. The main goal of all PC simulation games is to master the activity. Players will create and cntrol virtual people, build and decorate their homes and city, and determine the course of their lives. Players can also create movies and stories, create custom game content, and master skills such as cooking, fishing, gardening, and entertaining.
