  • Professional ice hockey player Pavol Demitra plays for the Minnesota Wild in the National Hockey League. In October of 2008, Demitra was sidelined with a rib injury and is expected to miss three to four weeks.
  • NHL Career

    Demitra was drafted 227th overall in the 1993 NHL Draft by the Ottawa Senators. He made his NHL debut that same year with the Senators and split his first three professional seasons between the NHL and the Senators' American Hockey League affiliate, the Prince Edward Island Senators. A November 27, 1996, trade sent Demitra to the St. Louis Blues. He played one season mainly in the minors before earning a full roster spot with the Blues in 1997. Demitra played in the Czech Republic during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout, then signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Kings on August 2, 2005. After one season in Los Angeles, he was traded to the Minnesota Wild.
