Post Fight Interviews
- Kelly Pavlik thought he won the early rounds, lost the middle rounds, but won the final rounds. They ask him who he wants to fight next, Pavlik says he'll fight anybody.
- Jermain Taylor thinks he won, but acknowledges it was a good fight. They ask him if he's going to move up in weight, possibly to 168 pounds. He responds that "It's up to God." He seems distracted, perhaps stunned that he lost again. His eyes are heavily swollen. His right eye looks particularly bad.

Decision
- [12:10 P.M.] 117-111 | 115-113 | 116-112 | all for the winner by unanimous decision - Kelly Pavlik.

Round 12
- [12:08 P.M.] I'm thinking that there's going to be a third fight between these guys. Both fighters exchange vicious blows. Both fighters showing heart, Taylor continues to back up though. Pavlik really starting to open up. Taylor is clinching for rest, Pavlik is relentless, same story, jab followed by the overhand right. Crowd rises to it's feet in the final ten seconds, but Taylor clinches for his life. To me it looks like Pavlik won the last two rounds. It goes to the score cards.
-
Round 10
- [12:00 P.M.] First time Pavlik has been to the 10th Round in his Professional career, Pavlik continues to stalk Taylor. He seems to be racking up the points, but Taylor still has some power behind his punch. Pavlik's trainer seems to think they need the final two rounds. Taylor's corner wants him to establish the jab better.
-
Round 9
- [11:55 P.M.] Howard Lederman has the fight even, Larry Merchant has Pavlik up a round. If this fight goes to the cards it's going to be close. Really it depends on what you respond to, if you like flashy, quick bursts Taylor might seem to be winning. If you like consistency and aggression, Pavlik seems to be winning.
-
Round 6
- [11:43 P.M.] Announcers are thinking fatigue might be a factor. Pavlik has only been past the eighth round once, and Taylor traditionally fades in fights. Pavlik is relentless coming forward, even as Taylor lands telling blows to the body and head. Pavlik continues to kill Taylor with the Jab followed by the overhand right. Fighters are showing that they can take big blows.

Pre-Fight
- [11:16 P.M.] Jermain Taylor enters to "Too Late to apologize" music. Kelly Pavlik is obviously the crowd favorite. He enters to cheers, can't hear the music.
- [11:13 P.M.] Crowd is chanting "Kelly". Obviously Youngstown is in the house.
- [11:04 P.M.] I'm noticing that the crowd is noticeably mellow, and unenthusiastic, just minutes from the fight starting. The announcers say the same thing, wondering if the atmosphere might have an effect on Kelly Pavlik this time around, since he seemed to thrive on the hometown support he had in Atlantic City for their first fight.
- [11:00 P.M.] Castillo is knocked out by Montiel with a vicious left hook to the body . Castillo stays down on one knee taking the 10 count.
- [10:58 P.M.] Larry Merchant interviews Kelly Pavlik, he says he's excited about the fight, not phased by the prospect of fighting Jermain Taylor just four months after their first fight.
- [10:55 P.M.] I'm noticiing that Roy Jones Jr. is sitting in the third row at ringside of the MGM Grand, perhaps a potential future opponent for both these fighters ?
- [10:53 P.M.] Castillo seems to have recovered in round 2. But Montiel looks sharp.
- [10:38 P.M.] Castillo is knocked down in Round one.
- [10:36 P.M.] Christian Mijares wins by split decision. Announcers are in shock that Navarro was a winner on one Judge's score card. So am I.
- [10:35 P.M.] Fight is going to the score cards. Mijares seems to be the clear winner...but crazier things have happened in the sport.
- [10:29 P.M.] Navarro has a nasty cut. Blood is everywhere. But doctor is allowing him to fight.
- [10:23 P.M.] Cristian Mijares vs. Jose Navarro is a bloody, brutal fight, both men are bruised and bloodied. The crowd however seems indifferent to the action as they are obviously still settling in, anticipating the main event.
- [10:18 P.M.] Just thinking....it's going to be interesting to listen to Emmanuel Stewart analyze the Pavlik Taylor fight, considering he was the trainer of Jermain Taylor during his championship run, however they never seemed to mesh.
- [10:13 P.M.] Mijares seems to be winning easily through six rounds. Rules are being explained to Jermain Taylor in the dressing room.
- [10:00 P.M.] Julio Cesar Chavez is in attendance. Still very few people in attendance. Interesting first fight, Ronald Hearns dominated the fight, and knocked out Astorga in the final round, scheduled for 8 rounds.
