• Paula Jones is a former Arkansas state employee who claimed that Bill Clinton, while Governor of Arkansas, sexually propositioned her and exposed himself.

  Jones filed a sexual harassment suit against Clinton, and as part of her lawsuit, her lawyers subpoenaed Monica Lewinsky and other women believed to have had similar encounters with the President. Clinton eventually paid $850,000 to settle the lawsuit.

• Background of Case

  Jones claimed that, in 1991, Arkansas State Troopers escorted her to Bill Clinton's room in a downtown Little Rock hotel. Inside the room, Clinton allegedly attempted to fondle Jones and when she resisted, allegedly exposed his genitalia to her.

  Jones claimed she then left the room, and three years later, after Clinton had become President, Jones filed suit shortly before the expiration of the statute of limitations.Washington Post: Declaration of Paula Jones (1998)

• The Path to Impeachment

  In an effort to demonstrate that Clinton's behavior was part of a pattern, Jones's lawyers subpoenaed several other women, including Kathleen Willey and Monica Lewinsky.

  After Lewinsky and Clinton separately denied under oath having any relationship, Lewinsky's co-worker, Linda Tripp, turned audio recordings of Lewinsky claiming the opposite. The resulting perjury charges against both Lewinsky and Clinton resulted in Clinton's impeachment in 1999.

• Paula Jones and Gennifer Flowers

  Paula Jones and Gennifer Flowers teamed up in 2008 to put out a website where they sell videos revealing all about their encounters with Bill Clinton. The website, GenniferandPaula.com was launched in June.
