Washington state sheriff's deputy Paul Schene is accused of assaulting a 15-year-old girl in an incident that was captured on surveillance tape.
The incident, in which Schene can be seen slamming the girl into a wall, throwing her on the floor and lifting her off the ground by her hair, occurred in November 2008; the tape was released in February 2009. It also appears as if Schene strikes the girl. Prior Excessive Force Incidents
In 2006, Schene shot and killed a mentally ill man during a confrontation on a highway. Schene testified in court that he believed the man was intoxicated. He shot the man 11 times.
